Windfall Strategy

How does the Windfall Project raise money?

It doesn’t. The Windfall Project is just clean tube through which money travels. The grand purpose if the Windfall Project is to inspire you to awaken the highest parts of yourself to full expression, to make a difference in the lives of those who are too weighed down to help themselves. The Windfall Project asks you to take your expression of personal generosity out of the realms of chore and into the realms of artistry.

Look at the canvas of your life. What could unbridled creative generosity do to transform the stories living and breathing on that canvas? How can you work with what is on that canvas to magnify it into feeding hundreds or even thousands of starving orphans.

For example, I am a massage therapist. I have to market my business. I could walk around handing out flyers and maybe some people would come to me but only I would be benefited. What if instead, I called an office building and asked if I could bring a massage chair in and work for a day to raise money for the Windfall Project? I would still be marketing my business. Every donor would get a card and have a personal experience with me, but in four hours I could raise $240.00 . People living in rural India work over 12 hours per day to make between 50 cents and one dollar to feed their whole family. So how many families do you think could be fed with $240.00? I have to market anyway, but with a little creativity, I can make a huge difference.

For example, I work in a financial firm. I do not make a lot of money. But I am surrounded by people who make four times what they need and just let it sit in a bank. So I decide to spend $100.00 on veggie hot dogs and hold a hot dog fundraiser to raise money to funnel through the Windfall Project. Some people pay five dollars per hot dog. A few recognized what I was trying to do and paid $500.00- $1000.00 for a hot dog. Maybe I don’t have a lot of money, but it doesn’t mean I have nothing to give. An artist always finds a way to create beauty.

For example, I am going to be junior in highschool. My college resume needs some padding. I need to look like a person of substance. I could join some school club. Or I could talk some of my friends into getting a part-time job with me over the summer. We could donate 100% of the funds and call it a charitable program that we created. What would that say about me to a college admission board?

For example, I am a minimum wage earner working in fast foods. I make little more than $1000.00 per month. I don’t feel like I have anything extra to give to anybody. I pay $600.00 per month in rent but I am about to move to a new apartment. What if instead of moving right away, I talked a friend into letting me stay with them rent free so I could raise some money to help the Tibetan or the starving children get a leg up. What if I stayed with him for three months and donated the$600.00 I would have spent on rent to funnel through the tube of the Windfall Project. As a minimum wage earner I will have managed to donate $1800.00, enough to feed thousands or provide health care or education to people living in destitution. What does that new picture do to the canvas of my life?
